Honoring Future Engineers and Newly Licensed Professionals at Holy Cross College Holy Cross College proudly celebrated a significant milestone in the journey of its engineering students and graduates through the successful conduct of the 4th Hard Hatting Ceremony and Testimonial Ceremony of Civil Engineering Board Passers. Held at the HCC SHS AVR, the event recognized both aspiring engineers preparing to enter the profession and newly licensed Civil Engineers who have recently achieved success in the board examinations.
The Hard Hatting Ceremony symbolized the readiness of students to take on the responsibilities and challenges of the engineering field. More than just a formal tradition, it marked a meaningful transition—signifying their commitment to professionalism, discipline, and safety as they move closer to becoming full-fledged engineers.
Complementing this was the testimonial segment, where board passers shared their personal journeys. Their stories of perseverance, dedication, and resilience served as inspiration for the students, offering a glimpse into the realities of preparing for and overcoming the Civil Engineering licensure examination.
The event was further highlighted by the presence of guest speaker Ferdinand “Dinan” P. Labung, Municipal Mayor of Sta. Ana, Pampanga, and an engineer by profession. In his speech, he imparted valuable insights drawn from both his technical background and leadership experience.
He emphasized the deeper meaning behind the ceremony, stating, “Remember that a hard hat is not only a piece of protection for the head, but the hard hat symbolizes professionalism, commitment, and safety.”
He further inspired the audience with a powerful message: “Future Civil Engineers, keep building, keep dreaming, because the future is in our hands. Status in life is not a barrier to achieving dreams.”
His words resonated strongly with both students and graduates, reinforcing the idea that success in engineering, and in life, is built not only on knowledge and skill, but also on integrity, perseverance, and determination.
The ceremony concluded with a spirit of pride and motivation, celebrating the achievements of the newly licensed engineers while encouraging the next generation to continue striving for excellence.
Congratulations to all future engineers and newly licensed Civil Engineers of Holy Cross College. Your journey is just beginning, and the future you will help build starts now.
