School of Computing, Information Technology and Engineering formally recognized the achievements of its aspiring and newly licensed Civil Engineers today during the 4th Hard Hatting Ceremony and Testimonial Ceremony for Civil Engineering Board Passers, held at the HCC SHS AVR. This significant event acknowledged students poised to enter the engineering profession and celebrated the recent successes of its board-certified graduates.
The Hard Hatting Ceremony served as a formal induction for students into the engineering discipline, symbolizing their preparedness to commence their professional development. Concurrently, the testimonial segment provided a platform for newly licensed Civil Engineers to articulate their experiences, underscore the perseverance demonstrated throughout their studies, and recount their successful attainment of professional licensure.
The event was honored by the presence of Hon. Engr. Ferdinand “Dinan” P. Labung, Municipal Mayor of Sta. Ana, Pampanga, who delivered the keynote address. Mayor Labung, a distinguished professional engineer, imparted valuable insights and motivational counsel to the assembled students, encouraging them as they prepare to enter the engineering field.
In his address, Mayor Labung articulated a key principle: “Remember that a hard hat is not only a piece of protection for the head, but the hard hat symbolizes professionalism, commitment, and safety.” This statement underscored the significance of the hard hat as a representation of the core tenets of the engineering profession, extending beyond technical competencies to encompass the critical values of integrity, dedication, and accountability.
