The School of Arts, Sciences, and Education (SASED) of Holy Cross College is currently conducting its Values Formation Seminar at the HCC Library, bringing together aspiring educators for a meaningful discussion centered on professional growth and personal values. With the theme “Guided by Values, Driven by Purpose as Future Professionals,” the seminar highlights the essential role of values in shaping effective and responsible teachers. The event aims to inspire students who are preparing to enter the teaching profession by reinforcing the importance of integrity, dedication, and leadership.

Serving as the guest speaker, Dr. Leendel Ivy Yumul-Capulong shared insightful perspectives on the responsibilities and impact of educators in today’s society. In her talk, she emphasized that teaching goes beyond delivering lessons in the classroom, it is about influencing lives, modeling good character, and guiding students toward becoming responsible members of the community. Dr. Capulong also encouraged future educators to remain committed to their purpose, reminding them that strong values serve as the foundation for meaningful leadership in education. She highlighted how teachers play a vital role not only in academic development but also in shaping the moral compass of the younger generation. Students actively participated in the seminar, reflecting on their personal motivations for entering the teaching profession and discussing how values can guide their future roles as educators.

This initiative supports the Department of Education (DepEd)-aligned curriculum, which aims to develop competent, compassionate, and value-driven teachers who can contribute positively to the education sector. Through activities like the Values Formation Seminar, Holy Cross College continues to nurture future professionals who are not only academically prepared but also guided by strong principles and a clear sense of purpose.
