Strengthening Industry–Academe Partnerships

Holy Cross College recently held a productive meeting with Huawei Technologies Philippines, Inc. To discuss a potential academic partnership, with the goal of establishing HCC as a Huawei ICT Academy. This initiative seeks to strengthen the College’s commitment to preparing students and faculty for the evolving demands of the technology industry.

The discussion centered on Huawei’s academic programs and industry-recognized certifications, which can enhance faculty expertise and student competencies in high-demand fields such as Computer Networking, Python for IoT, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Services, and Storage Technologies. By integrating these programs into Holy Cross College’s curriculum, students and faculty alike can gain access to globally recognized skills and practical experience that are highly relevant in today’s fast-changing tech landscape.

Representing Holy Cross College were Dr. Marvin O. Mallari, Dean of the School of Computer, Information, and Technology Education (SCITE); Dr. Grosby A. Dela Cruz, Program Chair of BS Computer Engineering; and Mr. Arzel P. Pinpin, Program Chair of BS Information Technology and Head of TRS. Mr. Andrei Manuel, Talent Ecosystem Manager, represented Huawei Technologies Philippines during the meeting.

This potential collaboration reflects Holy Cross College’s commitment to industry–academe partnerships that ensure graduates are well-equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical, globally recognized skills.
